Your complete travel guide to Marrakech
Marrakech is one of my favourite destinations to visit. It’s a city full of life and energy – with great shopping, rooftop bars, and delicious food.
It’s chaotic, colourful and full of contrasts. One minute you’re wandering through busy souks, and the next you’re relaxing in a peaceful riad or exploring beautiful gardens.
This guide is your one stop shop for planning your trip to Marrakech. It includes my favourite restaurants, rooftop bars, things to do and hotels, plus some information to help you plan your trip.

Getting around Marrakech
Marrakech is really walkable, and part of the fun is exploring the souks on foot and seeing what you discover.
There is Uber in Marrakech, and it tends to be a set price of 50 MAD/£4/$5 to go to most places in the city.
It takes twenty minutes to get from the airport to the centre of Marrakech, and an Uber will cost around 200 MAD/£16/$21.
I’d recommend arranging a transfer with your Riad or hotel for when you arrive, that way you don’t need to worry about finding a taxi at the airport.
Someone from your Riad will meet you to help with your bags and to take you to the property, as they’re normally within the medina where cars can’t go.
Marrakech travel tips
- Get an eSIM – Purchase an eSIM before you travel, so you have internet as soon as you land.
- Download an offline map – Signal can be patchy in the medina, so download maps.me which can be used even without phone reception.
- Take cash – Lots of places in Marrakech only accept cash, so make sure you have some available. There’s cash points in the airport, and a few in the city.
How long do you need in Marrakech?
I’d recommend at least four full days in Marrakech.
